This world famous site is just south of Salt Lake City in Utah. There are actually two sites at the Point, the south side usually works in the morning, and the north side flight park works later in the day, and can be quite thermic.
     Primarily a ridge soaring site, the south side can be soarable at dawn with wind flowing north from Utah Lake. It will begin to get rough as the sun heats the earth, mixing thermals with the wind. The north side is great later in the day for pilots with some thermal experience, as you can bench up from the lower launch to about a thousand over.
