Great Day of Fun!!

Noon to Sunset, New Year's Day

Weather-permitting, foot-launched pilots flying Hang Gliders and Paragliders will fly from La Cumbre Peak in the Santa Barbara mountains to the Elings Park at the corner of Las Positas Road and Cliff Drive. Once there, they will be demonstrating their sport by launching, flying and landing within the park. A raffle will feature many great items to raise money for the Elings Park Foundation.

For over twenty eight years, foot-launched flight (hang gliding and paragliding) has been practiced and taught to eager pilots here on the 'Jesuit Hill' in what is now Elings Park.

The Elings Park Foundation is a non-profit organization that relies on users and donors to provide funds to keep the park open. They recognize the unique joy and freedom of our sport, and the value of a safe instructing area. The Santa Barbara Soaring Association is celebrating over twenty eight years of teaching of foot launched flight on what is believed to be the finest training hill in the United States.
