RULES FOR FLYING AT ELINGS PARK
All hang gliding and paragliding activities at Elings Park are a privilege. Treat this magical place with the greatest respect. Fly responsibly, remove your trash and treat other visitors with respect.
  1. Hang gliding and paragliding activities are permitted only when an approved monitor is present.
  2. All those engaged in hang gliding and paragliding activities must:
    • Check-in with the primary monitor. Show current proof of USHGA rating and training hill fees and waivers.
      Year 2001 Fees are: $5.00/day, $20.00/month or $65.00/calendar year.
    • Sign-in on the logbook.
    • Wear a helmet anytime they are attached to their hang glider/paraglider.
    • Assist the monitors in assuring that all other park visitors comply with all park rules.
  3. Approval for all activities must be obtained daily from the monitor prior to hang gliding and paragliding activity.
  4. All paragliding schools and instructors must have approval before using the Elings Park Training Hill for instruction. Call Fly Above All at 805-965-3733 for details.
  5. Student pilots with less than novice hang gliding rating (H2) or novice paragliding rating (P2) must have direct supervision by their USHGA certified, Elings Park training hill approved, instructor.
  6. A safe physical distance must always be maintained between moving gliders, people, and/or vehicles. Paragliding and hang gliding pilots have the right of way over RC gliders.
  7. Vehicles are not allowed in landing or launching area - they are to remain on roads at all times.
  8. All hang gliding and paragliding activities must be in compliance with USHGA hang gliding and paragliding pilot rating and instructor certification programs, and FAR 103.
  9. Each park user is responsible for upholding the best interests of the flight park. Any inappropriate or unsafe conduct (as deemed by any monitor) may result in a temporary or permanent ban from Elings Flight Park.
I have read these rules and agree to abide by them. I have signed a waiver for Elings Park & Fly Above All, Inc and paid my hill fees.
