With the wind in your hair, you can be at the controls of your hang-glider, microlite, paraglider or glider in different regions of the world.

If you've ever wanted to soar high above the valley, enjoying the scenery and feeling the vagrancy of the winds, HangSim offers you the chance to fly with the birds. Reach heights of 10,000 feet or more as you take in the detailed vistas at levels of three meters per pixel and resolutions as high as 1280x1024, 32-bit color. Enjoy and be challenged by the in-air environments with updrafts, cloud aspiration, thermals and mountain ridge effects.

HangSim gives you four possible flight modes including free flight (8), competition (11), challenge (32) or just-for-fun flights. Traverse the sky across seven diverse locales – mountains, gorges, valleys, ridges, beaches, city and metropolitan – each with its own unique features and challenges. Travel from France to various locations in California, including San Diego, Torrey Pines, Del Mar and the eastern suburbs of Los Angeles.

The many aspects of hang gliding are covered in the manual: wind dynamics, temperature, convection and inversion effects, slope effects and physiology of thermals. Use the Head Up Display and modern GPS systems to keep track of your locations as you fly seven aircraft, including two hang gliders, a sail plane and other ultra-lite flying machines through 70 scenarios. Learn about micrometeorology and gliding techniques while accumulating points in a dozen different ways while flying.

Other features of HangSim include three difficulty selections for both the challenge and competition modes, adjustable sound and video configurations, a logbook for keeping track of your flights and an option to create your own flight plans and situations. You control the time of day, weather, clouds, wind intensity and adjustable camera views. A flight evaluation analysis provides you with details of each completed flight in graph form.

Strap yourself in to the craft of choice, whether wind or power controlled, and catch some air with HangSim. HangSim Features
