This unit is particularly easy to use due to the large buttons located on the front of the unit. The large display is also very clear during limited visibility.

The "S" in the product name stands for "sensors," referring to the GPS receiver, barometric altimeter, and electronic compass the GPSMAP 76S incorporates to deliver precise location, elevation, and bearing information.

The unit also contains a basemap of North and South America, including major highways, thoroughfares, rivers, lakes, and borders, with plenty of memory (24 MB) for downloading MapSource data.
