FlyChart 4.0X Barograph and Polar Examples

Below, you will find two examples of the many features of FlyChart 4.0x software. The first is the barograph output and the second is the post processing out of the polar function.

Barographs

Below is an example of the barograph tracing found in FlyChart 4.0 software. A portion of the flight has been highlighted to show the values at the point at which the cursor is pressed and held. It also shows the difference between the two points as you drag the cursor along the flight while holding the mouse button.

Barograph Data Page

Below is the data page for a downloaded flight. All of the values for the flight are displayed. You can then input your own comments, start point, turn points, and landing point. The software will compute all of the distances and average flight times when this is done. It will also give an overhead view if for the flight when the flight task in entered (e.g., distance to goal, distance to goal with a single turn point, triangle, out and returns, etc.)

Polars
The polar functions are only available in the Professional version of FlyChart 4.0.

Below is an example of the polar data as it is shown graphically. The right side is the gauge for the glide ratio. This is shown with the green line. The left side of the window shows the sink rate of the glider. This is marked by the red line. The red line is the actual polar of the glider. The top shows these two values in relation to the airspeed of the glider. The polar curve can be edited several ways. One way is to change the data which is placed into the software. The other is to enter the manual curve fitting area. You can then click and the drag the polar to match whatever criteria you would like.
