Bob Peloquin
Basic Instructor
I was hooked the first time my feet left the ground and I experienced the thrill of free flight.
In 2002 I began paragliding and became so obsessed with it, that all my other toys began gathering dust. I found myself spending most of my free time flying, thinking about flying, or kiting my wing at a local park. It seemed like there just wasn't enough time for flying.
There are so many dimensions to paragliding. Whether it's climbing in a thermal while flying cross country in the mountains, ridge soaring in super smooth air at a coastal ridge site or getting towed up over a lake in a maneuvers clinic, it's all good.
One of the things I really enjoy about paragliding is traveling to different areas to experience new flying sites and make new friends. I have so many great memories and I'm truly enjoying the experiences that come along with paragliding. The pleasure of flying is only a part of the total paragliding experience.
I love paragliding and I can't think of a better way to share the experience than to be an instructor. Teaching a new pilot during that first flight and then helping them
develop into a safe flyer is very rewarding. With over 30 years experience in another profession that demands keen observation and interaction with people in extremely stressful situations, I bring some very special skills to the training hill.
Part of the fun of teaching is using my skills as an observer to recognize the strengths and weaknesses of each student. I can then provide positive instruction
that capitalizes on the student's strengths and provides solutions for patiently dealing with any problems.
People learn in different ways and I enjoy modifying my instruction to best suit each new pilot. Just as I developed friendships with my instructors, I look forward to developing new friendships with those I teach.
I am extremely excited to be part of Fly Above All and its family of instructors.
