Thermal Clinic: The Santa Barbara mountains offer a unique opportunity for learning thermal soaring techniques while enjoying the incredible views of the Santa Ynez Range, Pacific Ocean and the Channel Islands.

Our team of instructors will guide you in understanding thermal generators, thermal triggers, sink, lift, the core, cloudbase, cloudstreets and convergence. Take part in exercises that train our brains to identify the core of a thermal and adjust our circling. Put theory into practice and make the most of this precious lift!

We'll start the clinic on the evening of the 10th to begin our discussion of theory and technique, moving to the local flying sites on the weekend for some practical skill building. Reserve early, as space is limited. More Info...

The league is open to both PG’s and HG’s and will be broken down into categories. The league is starting late this year so it will be abbreviated as compared to the plan for 2009. Twice each year, we go north for the Big Sur Club Camp Trip.

Elings Park Training Hill

More than just a place to learn, this is perhaps one of the BEST Soaring Sites Santa Barbara has to offer in the Summertime.
